My first attempt at a solo acoustic album, I self released Shaking the Phantom Limb on CD in 2011. All the songs are thru-composed. It documents a period just before my shift towards a more effortless playing style, so there is tension and thus there are a lot of clams and mistakes and rhythmic imperfections. I would later hone my attention to fine detail.
It is for this reason that I disavowed this record for a number of years. But now I am at a place where I can embrace it, warts and all, and think it is a worthwhile artifact in my archive. It was recorded by my buddy Ian Weir.
